Lily’s leven komt op z'n kop te staan als ze gedwongen wordt haar vrienden achter te laten om de zomer door te brengen op een afgelegen ranch met haar tante die gek is op de natuur. Overtuigd dat haar sociale leven voorbij is, wordt ze verrast door de ontmoeting met een onwaarschijnlijke groep vrienden en maakt ze het avontuur van haar leven mee. Als haar tante wordt bedreigd door onvriendelijke buren, weet Lily dat zij en Pistachio, het paard met wie ze een onverbrekelijke band vormt, de ranch moeten redden, wat haar uiteindelijk bij haar lotsbestemming brengt.
