Doorsneetiener Zak Gibbs stuit op een geheimzinnig horloge waarmee de tijd letterlijk kan worden stilgezet. Zak gebruikt zijn vondst om indruk te maken op Francesca, een nieuwe beeldschone scholiere uit het buitenland. Een verbitterde wetenschapper en zijn boosaardige baas blijken echter op de hoogte te zijn van het bestaan van het wonderbaalijke tijdmachientje. Wanneer de twee alles op alles zetten om het horloge en daarmee de ultieme zeggenschap over de wereld in hun bezit te krijgen, komen Zak en Francesca tegen hun wil terecht in een spannende hi-tech race tegen de klok!
